My 60 Years of Experience Is
Your Shortcut to Making Music
Hi, I'm Thomas J. Calanni — founder of PianoJump.
With over 60 years as a musician, performer, and composer, I've learned something that most piano methods miss entirely: there's a big difference between playing the piano and making music.
My mission at PianoJump is to teach you both — and because of everything I've experienced across those six decades, I can get you there far more efficiently than traditional methods ever could. Every shortcut I share, every technique I teach, and every concept I explain comes from real-world experience — stages I've performed on, songs I've composed, students I've guided, and mistakes I've learned from along the way.
That depth of experience means less time spent on what doesn't work, and more time discovering what truly does. Simply put, my journey becomes your advantage.
At PianoJump, students of all ages — from curious 9-year-olds to adults rediscovering their love of music — learn in a fun, encouraging, and genuinely engaging environment. I believe you should be playing songs you actually love, not exercises that feel like homework. So from day one, we focus on music that excites you, building your ear, your theory, and your creativity all at once.
The goal isn't just to make you a better piano player. It's to help you create music that moves people — music you can share with friends, family, and anyone lucky enough to be in the room. Whether you're picking up the piano for the very first time or returning after years away, PianoJump is where your musical journey gets the head start it deserves.
